= Announcement of project[edit]

So, I'd really like to do some work on the whole Book of Hebrews. I'm more and more convinced that the most distinctive ways of thinking to be found in the LDS tradition are wrapped up within the interpretation of this text. I see that Nate was involved with the site for a while and doing some work here, might it be worth trying to draw him back to it and get a sort of group project going here? If not, I will be doing some work here (work I feel is connected with the Alma 32 project that Robert and I are working on more or less continually). If anyone else is interested, please let me know. --Joe Spencer 19:25, 1 February 2007 (CET)

I'm game, though we've got a new baby coming sometime in the next couple weeks, so I'll probably be a lot more scarce. Also, notice my suggestion at the blog of doing a series of blog posts that complement this project (I'm thinking something roughly like Adam's Reading Abraham approach, but I see one more step in the "dialectic": hash out a few rough thoughts on the wiki, then write up a blog post raising some questions/issues/aporias that we come to here, then take whatever insights we get from the blog and writeup a summary here. The problem is that I don't think it will necessarily get anyone who's not posting on the wiki to start posting on the wiki, but I think/hope that it will help those on the wiki gain some confidence and watch the wiki process more closely.... --RobertC 15:57, 2 February 2007 (CET)

I like this idea. I'll head it up, since you've got a busy few weeks (months?) ahead of you with the baby coming. I think I'll spend a couple of days working up questions on the wiki first to see where that leads me. I've got a general idea of where I'd like to go with this book, but most of that general idea comes in later chapters, so I'll be interested to see where study of this first chapter takes me. Thanks for the support. --Joe Spencer 17:24, 3 February 2007 (CET)

Robert and I have a baby both coming at the same time. I would like to contribute though as time permits. Another reason though I might not contribute much on this project though is that I'm not sure I'll have much of value to say about Hebrews--as I think is pretty tough stuff and I have put off devoting any time to it. --Matthew Faulconer 07:51, 4 February 2007 (CET)
