As it was with Noah (v. 19)

I've a mind to remove or move the lexical note for verse 19 as I can't really see the point of (what remains of) it and it never really seemed like a lexical note. Originally it had a question which seemed to be the main point. In any case, if nobody has any objection, I'll remove it in a day or two. I suppose I just want to give someone the opportunity to salvage the thoughts somehow either be enlarging them to relevance, or finding a better home for them. --Seanmcox 18:23, 26 Jan 2007 (UTC)

Sean, I added the lexical note. I think I was just trying to understand what this phrase meant in verse 19, and I think--based on the mention of Priesthood in verse 18--that this is referring to Noah receiving the Priesthood, which is described in Moses 8:19. So I think the Moses 8:19 cross-reference is appropriate here, though it needs to be explained better (and it is probably more appropriate in the exegesis section--I have a bad habit of using the lexical notes section for quick, bulleted, half-baked thoughts...). I think the reference to Gen 9:22ff should be removed, or moved to Moses 8:19 and reworded (my thinking was that it is relevant b/c it is a place--the only place, I think--that we read about any mention of Noah and the priesthood in the Old Testament, and there is a link on the Gen 9:22 page to a Book of Jasher reference where Noah and the Priesthood are explicitly mentioned, all of which I think is interesting to consider when reading PoGP passages on Noah and the Priesthood). --RobertC 22:00, 26 Jan 2007 (UTC)
OK, I've made a preliminary adjustment to the commentary. I just tacked on the reference to Noah's having received the priesthood to the beginning of my commentary. I'm sure there's a better way, but I think it would involve developing the idea more. --Seanmcox 18:19, 29 Jan 2007 (UTC)
