Verse 19:20: Chosen[edit]
Matthew, I'm trying to understand the different ways you're reading chosen. Is the distinction you're making who is chosen or how they are chosen? If who, I think I understand--is Jesus referring to all those he has chosen out of the world (presumably including us), or is he referring only to those disciples he had chosen there at that time. If you mean something else, I don't understand your point.... --RobertC 13:50, 21 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Verse 19:232[edit]
Verse 23 is interesting. Though this doesn't seem to be the point of the verse, the verse does seem to explain the relationship between the Father and the Son. The nature of the verse, to my ears, implies that Father and Jesus are separate people but it also explains in what sense they are one--they are one in the same sense that we are to become one with Christ. I found this verse interesting particularly because some other verses in the Book of Mormon that touch on this issue (those which directly seem to address it) seem to me to be less clear. --Matthew Faulconer 05:51, 21 Dec 2005 (UTC)
The information from Ben Spackman leads to the question of why there was a change from praying to Jehovah to praying to the Father? Any ideas? MJ 14:51, 21 Dec 2005 (UTC)
