We learn that God dwells on a giant Urim and Thummim.  Our own earth will become a Urim and Thummim when it becomes glorified.  It will allow us to see the knowledge and truths of the lower kingdoms: the telestial and terrestrial.  For knowledge of higher kingdoms, each celestial being is given his very own white stone.  This stone allows us to learn how to become as God is.  So special that we can only access it with a secret "new name" that is the "key word."  In modern parlance, we would call the "key word" a "password."  Passwords are used on computers to keep unauthorized persons out, while giving authorized individuals proper access to information.
